American Oak

Valued for its stunning grain and impressive character, American oak is stable and durable – perfect for flooring throughout your home. Imported from the eastern United States, its light tones feature a straight grain, medium texture, and large distinctive ring growths, resulting in a subtle finish that complements any style.

With a heartwood of pale yellow and gold tones to light and mid-browns (tinged with pink) this subtle timber is ideal for recreating the popular Hamptons style.

Simply oil the timber to highlight its natural tones; it also takes well to stains and polishes in a range of colours, depending on the finish you want to achieve.

Attractive and Easy to Work with

In addition to its stunning grain and distinct patterns, American Oak is a hard and heavy wood with a impressive bending capabilities. It is easy to work with, and takes well to nailing, gluing and screwing – though it has a high shrinkage rate and shouldn’t be used for below ground purposes. Indoor applications are ideal.
