IronBark

With a reputation as one of Australia’s most loved timbers, it offers an incredibly strong, hardwearing and durable material for both building and decking. With a beautiful range of colours, from light pinks and deep reds to creams and greys, it can be an excellent feature within any home.

Ironbark comes a stunning deep red tone, that features shades of light pinks or greys, depending on the tree it has come from.

It can be oiled or stained to brink out its rich red colours, or can be left to weather naturally – you can choose the finish that would best suit your application.

Strong and Durable

Ironbark is ideal for a wide range of applications, thanks to its strength and durability. A particularly hard wood, it is both heavy and dense – meaning it will stand the test of time, but can be difficult to work with (contact our team for our top solutions). However, it is resistant to lyctid bores and termites, which makes it the ideal timber for a range of applications.

Many Applications

If you’re looking for a versatile and durable hardwood, then this is it! It makes an excellent material for timber joinery products, offering a unique and stylish finish for both interior and exterior use – think exposed beams! It also makes an excellent choice for exterior decking, creating a functional and attractive al fresco entertaining or pool area. Interior flooring is another great option, as its rich red tones bring a sense of luxury to any home.

FAQ

Is your IronBark ethically sourced?

We know that part of providing our customers with the highest quality timber means ensuring the timber is sustainably sourced. For that reason, we only stock timber that has been grown in designated renewable plantations, and logged in accordance with the Australian Forestry standards. We can assure you that our Ironbark is perfect for anyone who wants to do their bit for the planet as well as using an attractive and durable product.

Can I use IronBark in fire prone areas?

Whilst many people love the look and feel of hardwood timber, they are often concerned that they can’t use it within their home as they live in a bush fire prone area. However, Ironbark is a fire-resistant timber, and is appropriate for most areas where the threat of fire is a concern, or are rated between BAL 12.5 to 19.
